MEI Houston Triples Warehouse Space

MEI Rigging & Crating in Houston triples its warehouse and storage space with the opening of a 227,000 square foot warehouse within 10 miles of the Houston ports where MEI has strong and established relationships.
The increasing demand for warehousing in Houston, fueled by population growth, also factored into adding a much larger warehouse to MEI Houston’s capabilities. The Houston Chronicle recently wrote that “The hottest niche in Houston’s recovering real estate market is warehousing …the region might eventually take on a bigger role nationally in moving goods from Port Houston throughout the heartland.”
This strategically located Houston warehouse is container and flat rack ready for loading and unloading with the capability of lifting up to 80,000 pounds. There will also be, like MEI’s other large warehouse 20 miles away on JFK, short-term and long-term inside storage available with warehousing and inventory control.
All of this, including great security, will help with continuing to improve filling a warehousing void in Houston, but the main advantage is the close proximity to important ports in Houston.
“We were not necessarily running out of space at our 80,000 square foot facility,” says Hector Napoleoni, MEI Rigging & Crating Houston General Manager, “but we were offered an amazing opportunity to increase productivity and be much closer to the ports in Houston.”
